Insulated Concrete Formwork

Product Description

Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) is a simple construction system which uses purpose made insulating panels or blocks as the formwork for in-situ concrete. Once the concrete has been poured, the panels remain in place to act as thermal insulation.

To ensure the ICF remains durable and weather-tight, once the formwork has been poured and has cured, the exterior of the building must be waterproofed, plastered and painted. Internally the structure is either, strapped and lined or it is plastered.

The specification attached to this page of our website is for the application of Specialized’s fibreglass mesh reinforced Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) flanking and finishing system. The Coarse Mesh coat which is the basis of this system is a pre-blended, cement-based plaster that can be easily applied as a single levelling/flanking coat 3-4 mm thick over properly prepared polystyrene backgrounds to produce a high quality even and true surface prior to a selected finishing plaster being applied.
