Viking Balustrade System

Viking balustrade is a powder coated aluminium and glass railing system that is part of the Juralco balustrade range. Options for Viking balustrade configurations include: full height glass, split rail glass, semi-frameless glass, full height baluster and split rail baluster.

Scope of Use

Available in either toughened glass or vertical baluster infill, with four handrail styles and an interlinking rail for semi frameless glass installations, Viking is ideal for internal or external settings, including:

• Decks
• Stairways
• Mezzanine floors
• Balconies
• Pool surrounds and matching gates

A specially designed aluminium gutter bracket is available for Viking balustrade installations onto waterproof and floating decks.

Limitations on Use

• Viking Balustrade must only be installed in accordance with the Viking product manual
• Any deviation from standard fabrication or installation must be accompanied by a site-specific PS1, with site-specific calculations and drawings. Juralco can help with arranging site specific producer statements
• Glass must have a minimum strength of 100MPa
• All glass edges must be polished

To protect installations within 100 metres of the high tide level, or above 3 storeys, Dulux Duratec powder coating must be specified. Duratec has been specially designed to withstand these harsh environments and has a 20-year warranty.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

• Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, Viking balustrades have been engineered and tested to comply with NZ standards AS/NZS1170, NZS4223.3.2016, NZBC Clause F9 & 162C of the Building Act (pool safety legislation).
• Viking balustrade is suitable for occupancy A, A Other and C3.
• With a heavy-duty base plate and secure interlocking posts for modular installation, Viking provides a high-quality system.

Other Performance Attributes

All infill glass must be toughened safety glass, complying with AS/NZS 2208. 

Dulux Duralloy powder coating is used for properties greater than 100m from high tide level, where AMA 2603 performance is required. Dulux Duratec powder coating must be used for properties greater than 10 metres and up to 100 metres from high tide levels where AMA 2604 performance is required.
