RAB™ Board

RAB™ Board is an all in one bracing, airtight and fire resistant fibre cement rigid air barrier. The inherent strength of RAB Board makes it an ideal product for use in shear wall design in residential and commercial specific design projects. RAB Board is a non-combustible material which will achieve excellent fire performance, unlike traditional flexible and timber wall underlays.

RAB Board 6mm key features:

• Excellent structural bracing
• Suitable for use in Extra High wind zones or for specific design residential or commercial projects
• Provides a drainage plane for cavity construction
• Pre sealed on the face and edges to resist moisture penetration
• Will not warp or shrink when exposed to the weather for up to 180 days
• 60 minute fire ratings when installed as per the current James Hardie Fire and Acoustic Design Manual
• Complies with B1, B2, E2 and C3.7 of the NZBC
• BRANZ appraised
• Achieves 50 year durability
• Board warranty of 15 years

RAB Board 9mm key features:

• Superior acoustic performance when compared to other rigid air barrier alternatives
• Suitable for shear wall design in residential and commercial buildings where the structural design requires strong/stiffer shear walls
• The continuity of RAB Board 9mm on the exterior framing with its heavier mass cuts down the environmental noise, blocks noise flanking paths and therefore enhances the overall acoustic performance of building facades 
• Density of 1250kg/m3
• Up to 60 minutes fire resistance rating (FRR) can be achieved
• Complies with B1, B2, E2 and C3.7 of the NZBC
