With a stack of awards and many prestigious international projects completed, TimberLab continues to garner attention. Speed, precision and great accuracy are hallmarks of its work and TimberLab’s ability to satisfy growing demand has gone up another notch with the purchase of a second 5-axis CNC processing centre.
A fully automated Hundegger Speed-Cut SC-3 has greatly increased TimberLab’s capacity to process smaller section linear product, while using its existing Weinmann WMP240 for complex geometries or larger section projects.
The new machine handles the drilling, milling and slotting of solid timber elements at speed, and accommodates solid wood 200 mm x 450 mm and up to 8 metres in length.
TimberLab’s new CNC processing centre increases capability and doubles machining capacity, significantly reducing lead times for bespoke products. It also improves efficiency, ensuring the most cost-effective solution is delivered.
Computer controlled processing ensures work is done with great precision. Each element is fabricated with 1 mm accuracy, delivering customers reliable, quality solutions.
TimberLab is a one-stop-shop, providing options for a range of structural products (Glulam, LVL and CLT) meaning the structural system can be optimised and still delivered under a single procurement package. Having one fabricator responsible for modelling and CNC processing ensures each element is fabricated to the same tolerances and to the same accuracy.
Nothing is left to chance. TimberLab’s skilled 3D computer modelling and CNC capabilities produce precise, detailed models, ensuring every component and connection meets very fine tolerances. This enables it to identify and resolve clashes and inconsistencies that would not otherwise be noticed until the construction phase.
Accurately detailed components enable efficient prefabrication, saving costly on-site construction time. Complex shapes, precise connection detailing and innovative designs that were not previously possible can all be delivered to meet the most demanding customer requirements.
TimberLab has been hitting the headlines recently for their delivery of complex large scale projects in New Zealand and abroad and this new processing centre will only add to the versatility of the company.
