Located in one of Tauranga’s fastest growing commercial subdivisions – ‘The Lakes Crossing Tauriko’, sits the new Hawes development featuring ZX Panel as the face of their two new buildings.
The astute owners were focused on creating a unique look that still looked good and ensured the materials used were long-lasting and fit for purpose.
The ZX Panel cladding system was chosen by Hawes as it provided something new and was a cost-effective solution compared to alternative systems. The grid layout created the trendy look they were after, enhancing the face of the building from the street. The non-combustible solid aluminium powder coated panels in ‘Grey Friars Matt’ are 2mm thick and are connected to the structural framing using engineered aluminium extrusions, providing a cavity-based exterior cladding system that makes a great statement for the building.
Hawes’ builders were impressed by how lightweight and easy to install the system was, as well as the fact that all leftover waste was able to be recycled.
One of the major benefits in using ZX Panel is that minimal maintenance is required in keeping the building in pristine condition for many years ahead, and that costly maintenance re-paints are not necessary. ZX Panel also comes with a 15-year warranty which includes the powder-coated paint surface.
Sustainability is one of Hawes’ key values and with ZX Panel being sustainable and locally sourced, as well as future-proofing the building and environment for years to come, it was a logical, easy decision.
ZX Panel is made in New Zealand by Altus. It has been fully tested and gained an S14G PASS certificate making the system fully compliant under the Building Act 2004.
The Hawes building is another example of the developer and product supplier working together to create a project that enhances the overall look and standard of all buildings in the street and the subdivision.
